    Valve Clearances

    Hi All,

I bought my 2007 VRX with 200k on a couple years ago. Its now sitting on 230km and i think i should really do valve clearances and get the timing chain guide checked although its not really needed to be replaced on gen 4.

Does anyone know a good mechanic that know pajero in the South-Adelaide area. Ive got a few quotes and all is between the $800-$900, and when asking them questions they seem to specialise more in toyota. Generally i do everything myself but have no idea how to do valve clearances and the small mm from guides people post scares me.

There were timing chain related recalls all the way up until the NW so I’d be getting it all checked out.

I think the recall was only for the timing chain tensioner not the guide. You can look inside the engine oil filler, if the orange piece is still there then the guide is ok otherwise it's broken off
