Pajero Sport Service Reminder Setting After Resetting Too Far

    Hi everyone,

I recently got my car serviced by a non-mitsubishi dealer and they accidentally pushed the service reminder out to 30,000kms and 27 months. Both them and myself haven't been able to figure out how to set it back to the right 15,000kms and 12 months. Following the normal reset instructions doesn't seem to work. I get the flashing spanner and hitting the multi button just makes the spanner stop flashing instead of going to CLEAR like in the instructions. Any help would be much appreciated.

In the meantime I'm updating the software to get rid of the annoying safety warning.

it might be just that you have to keep the button pressed until the reset similar to below.

To reset your oil change light:

    1. Make sure the ignition is off.
    2. Press the INFO button until the information screen switches to the service reminder display screen.
    3. Press and hold the INFO button for a few seconds until the wrench symbol is displayed.
    4. When the wrench symbol is flashing, press and hold the INFO button until CLEAR is displayed on the screen.
    5. Start the engine to clarify the oil change light is reset.

      Had another possibly silly thought.

Perhaps the 30,000km is the total distance on the odometer until next service.
And 27 months is twelve months on to the age of the vehicle.

Unfortunately not. That was the 30,000km, 24 month service. I'll give your other method a try but I think I've tried all combinations I can come up with.

Still haven't had any luck with this. Any other thoughts?

Had our first 15,000km service last month. PS is 10month old.
Before starting the screen now tell me how far to next service but surprisingly tells me 14 months to service rather than the 12 months I would expect.

Once you reset the service indicator past the required time or distance the only way to set it to the correct interval is to use a scan tool to set an EXTRA REMINDER. Doesnt have to be A MUT3 though. I know the snapon and Launch scan tools can do this.
