    Charcoal canister

Can I chuck this out, or is it needed?
I believe mine has probably never been replaced.
How dear is it to replace and how often do I need to replace it?

No you don't need to replace it and it's required by law that your car has one to pass emissions standards.

    I think that's right..

And watch your fuel bill go up as your fuel evaporates into the atmosphere.

The thing is purged of hydrocarbons back to the vehicle fuel system and never needs replacing. It allows the vehicle to pass emission compliance. Why disconnect it as it has no adverse effect other than taking up space. Such a small amount of fuel vapour ever enters it, that it should make no difference to fuel consumption either way. These days your fuel filler cap does not vent (i.e. seals completely) so your fuel tank is (other than the canister & supply line) sealed to atmosphere, so removing the canister & blocking off lines is not a good idea either.

So where exactly should the 'To A/C" line go?
The drain pipe is just a dump pipe or nah? And what would cake it to dump fuel?
