NP 3.2 auto no cruise control

    Hi everyone,

I have an auto 3.2 np with no working cruise control.

Mitsubishi have said the cruise control module is faulty and cannot be replaced do to no spare parts.

The cruise light comes on but won't set. No error codes.

Anywhere else I should be looking before giving up?

Check that the brake light switch is not on all the time. If the ECU thinks you have the brakes on it won't engage cruise.

Failing that, a parts yard will have what you need. At what cost I don’t know, find your model and make an inquiry

Easy to check if the brake light switch is out of adjustment - hook your foot under the brake pedal and pull it up. If you can engage cruise then, it is the brake pedal switch out of adjustment.

Also check to make sure all your brake lights work.

              Cheers

Dodgy trailer plugs/wiring can also cause this issue. Same with trailer brake controllers.

Mine was the clock spring so that was my first guess.

I,m guessing he jumped on to get an answer. Got his answer and now isn't interested in giving feedback.......maybe next time he has an issue he,ll know better.

I will when the problem has been found.

So it's not as easy as replacing the clock spring?

If you have a manual transmission, check the limit switch on the clutch pedal as well.
