    Manual Locking Hubs

    Hey guys,

Have any of you put manual lockng hubs on your gen 1's?

I have just done my second auto hub in 3 years. The first was in the middle of the york peninsula (SA) and this one was half way along the centre track (parallel to border track). Both times I have had to take the hub off and lose 4wd capability, needless to say its a pain in the rear diff when your in the middle of soft sand.

I am thinking about going to manuals but not sure which ones fit a paj and where to get them from.

I am located in SA but willing to arrange courier from interstate.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,

    Gray.

    I searched it!
apparently you might be able to find factory 'aisin' manual hubs on old mistubishi 4x4's, from before 1986 or so, that can bolt onto a gen1 pajero.

Or 'superwinch' makes them, I belive its an amerian company, they are available from summit racing.

You cannot use aisin hubs from a toyota or isuzu, I think they have different splines, but some parts are the same.

    install article:

look on 4x4wire, there's lots of stuff on this conversion if you search 'aisin'

      Hi Gray,

I am only a new member from the other day but this may be able to help you also even if I am NSW,
      I have a 90model NH,last of the 4cyl petrols before the V6 came out,
I had troubles with mine & went to the local wreckers as was able to
pick a set of manual hubs, they are AISIN.
All I did was take the auto hubs off & replaced with the manuals,
I noticed that when putting the manual hubs on there was a extra circlip
or washer when I did them,Sorry I cannot think exact whether it was a washer or circlip as it was a while back,
I only paid $50.00 each back then,Approx 2years ago and still going fine,
and went on fine without any problems.
The only thing I have noticed with the ole girl she has the vibration which
I have notice on the group which seems to be a concern with the Pajero's,
I noticed more the other day when it felt like I did a Uni but I had them replace the week before (front & Back),It was more noticable when in 4wd
when we went shooting and noticed it on the grades when the vehicle was under weight,
Bearings are not gone as i checked them the other day also,
Could the proble be between the Adapter between the Gearbox & transfer
      case ????

Hope the above may help you on the Manual hubs,

      Cheers;
      Shane.
