    Rhino platform

Im thinking of getting a Pioneer SX Platform on my challenger, wondering if any one had any pics and the exact over all height it raised the car.

    Cheers

specs say they are 39mm, so I would take it that is the height above the SX leg. Thats not much more then the vortex bar.

I like the look of these as not to high and looks like alot of options as far as accesorries. I'd be confidant my truck would stay under 2.1m with the platform. The rack is 20kg so that leaves 60kg for load. They are pretty wide 1236mm especially given the vortex bars for the challenger are only 1065mm (see pic of my car with bars).

Let us know how you go

I have the rhino roof racks as Cookie9 with the Rhino roof basket on top. Total height is just under 2.1

Mine has a 50mm lift so would be getting pretty close to 2.1. Certainly dont think a basket is an option

          Hi Guys,

Platform sits 60mm above rails so my LS is 1900mm with stock (for now) suspension and 265/65r17 tyres.

Weighs in at 25kg so this leaves 55kg for extra load.

The platform sits over the vortex rails (see pic).

I just got a basket from SCA in its current sale. 1200x900x.1 for $68.

See how it goes and its cheap enough its no great loss if not suitable.

              cheers!

Cookie9 the basket on my challenger is 134x104x14 with standard suspension the highest point of basket is 202cm. So I thinks you should be OK with the 2" lift to squeeze in under 2.1?

Wind noise is noticeable at highway speeds, but not intrusive. Just blends in with tyre noise really. Had to actively listen for it around town, now i know the sound i do notice it a bit. With windows up, radio on quietly- its not an issue.

Went to the 4x4 show in Melbourne at the weekend, spoke to the Rhino rep on the Auto-barn stand.
He gave me a price for a Pioneer platform rack 1528 x 1236, $700 incl leg kit, would normally be $780 + leg kit.
Quote is good for a month, purchase approved by the treasurer off to the local supplier this week.

I'm interested in fitting a Rhino platform but wondered where the fitting points are for vehicles without the factory rails. My car, an XLS, has the rails but thought that fitting directly to the roof would give a stronger result with a lower profile. Did anyone investigate this option and would it work? I was wondering about clearances: between the rack and the rails both above and to the side when fitting the legs in the tracks. Has anyone researched it?
