    h9Headlight

    Hello all,

I will be changing my low beam headlight bulbs to H9 shortly, just need to find the best place to get them.
Supercheap can do normal Narva H9 for $106/pair. Link!
Ebay UK can do Philips for $73/pair (slightly cheaper than Ebay AU Link!
Ebay UK also have Lunex brand (heaps on there) betwwen $30-35/pair Link!

Anyone heard anything about Lunex? Worth a punt?

        Great site thank-you.
Unfortunately in the H9's they only have an 3 choices (well 1 really) an illegal version that is 75W. 1 PIAA set i know nothing about. Which leaves the stock osram replacement at an orangy 3200K

NW Pajero. from what i understand, the high beam (H9) can be slightly modified to fit the Low beam (H11)

"NJswb" recently ordered a set of the H9 PIAA from Powerbulbs, might be worth a PM to him to see if they are fitted and his impressions.

Correct. Filament placement and size are identical for the two (H11 and H9) but the H9 outputs 2100lm vs 1350lm from the H11.

Modification of the bulb is necessary. The top locating tab needs to be trimmed about 3mm and the socket for the electrical connection needs a small piece removed.

Just Google "H11 to H9 conversion" for lots of photos and even some Youtube videos.

Yes, bought the PIAA H9s, because the website told me they fit my high beams - I'm not planning to fit them to low beam.

I found them on the doorstep on Sunday afternoon, when I got home from a trip. They haven't been installed yet, and even when I do install them, I'm not sure my experience will be much use to this thread.

If you can find suppliers that will ship to Australia at sensible prices Amazon can be amazing. That's way better than Powerbulbs, which used to be the benchmark for good value.

No wonder retailers are quaking in their boots at the prospect of Amazon setting up shop here.
