Fault codes/ SRS warning light

Hi,
This is an extension of my continued post from within the Automate section (as it does not belong there)
Problem:
I have an SRS warning light up.
MMAL gave me P1610 as fault code and that it means (per MMAL) that I need a new upper and lower wiring loom change. $785.00

Can anyone give me further info?
Is there an independent I can go to here in Adelaide (prefer Southern side) to read my SRS fault code as I dont trust P1610 as legitimate code/ reason.

I think the code you refer to is B1610. This is a well known code due to connection issues in the harnesses. It is becoming rarer as most of the offending vehicle would of had the replacement by know. How far out of warranty are you? this was always covered before, and if you are the original owner you might be in with a chance if you play your cards right
