    I need education

Ok so I posted while back about the horrible noise that disappeared when clutch pushed in.
Mechanic swore it was the gearbox shaft.

    had 3 suggestions.
    Gearbox shaft bearing
    Clutch loose or broken
Rear main bearing on motor shot.

Here is what I found taking gearbox out.

Top or main bearing looks solid doesnt move, bottom bearing a bit sloppy.

    Clutch seems firm

How do i check the rear main on motor?
    Take clutch out?

Anyone in Melb wanna come over and help. if you know about these things
    Cheers
    Mike

Always start with the cheapest option, and it's usually the right one.
