Default Steel Bullbar Repair

Hi Pajero Community, I have a question regarding bulbar repairs. So I have recently found a CHEAP!! Opposite Lock Bulbar that has a relatively large ding in it, was just wondering if it is worth repairing and if so the best way to go about it.

AFAIK bullbars are basically a throwaway item these days with airbag cars, adr's, etc. Insurance companies replace them with any damage at all these days.

That said, i bought an ARB deluxe a few years ago which had a minor dent in it, made it look good, fitted it, ran it for a while, then ploughed a skippy which totalled the bullbar (and all LHS panels) and they replaced it.

Photos and detail of damage would be helpful.

If the damage is more than minor then it is best to cut the damage out and weld in replacement steel rather than a heat and straighten repair as steel loses some of its tensile strength once bent.

Lol, Thought That Would Be The Case. Too Much Of A Hassle, Even If It Was To Be Straightened It Would Have To Be Resprayed. Thanks For Your Help 😊

If it was free, you had the skills, equipment and time to do a cut, insert and respray then it would be possible.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't have the time or skill to do that sort of thing as I am only 14 years old. Just looking for cheap ways to modify my car before I can legally drive. Just thought I would ask the question as it seemed like a good deal. Thanks again for your help 😀
