    Ideas to improve setup please

Hi all. This is my current setup with the camper unladen. People have told me that it is not too bad. I would like to have it a bit more level than that. I am new to this whole caravan business.
Any ideas and advice would be greatly appreciated.
    TIA

I put a 2inch lift kit on the Pajero and a set of airbags as well. Spare wheel lift kit also ensures I can open the rear door to access the fridge on drivers side in rear (had to cut down and modify the vans hand brake lever...not a big job). The suspension lift will get the van a little more level and improve your driving comfort. The airbags will you the ability to get the van even for towing and stop the Paj from sagging in the rear(fine tuning the levelness, if you like) It looks like you have chosen wisely and not got a van that will have the Paj at its limits. If you dont carry much in the rear of the Paj then medium load springs would be best for the rear. Speak to a suspension specialist (Kieron from BUSHSKINZ sells suspension components and will be able to steer you to a good set up).

So is the lift kit only springs or springs and shocks? I am asking as I already fitted new shocks a few weeks ago.
Yes i must say, I take my hat off to the people pulling huge caravans. Man it must be taxing on the mind.
      I will make some enquiries.
      Thank you.

springs only if you have new shocks. Obviously you wont go to 2 inch lift as then you will need new shocks. Get a medium to heavy set of springs and try them. May be enough to bring your van up to level. Also your tow bar tongue may be a low model (cant tell from photo). You may be able to gain a couple of inches using a different tow tongue. If you live near a suspension dealer drop in and talk to him. Car and van should be on level ground before any alterations are determined. Sometimes if the car is not sagging the actual coupling on the van can be altered/repositioned/lowered/heightened to get it level. There will be a simple answer.

I turned my tongue around hoping to give me that extra height. It might look if it will be ok. The only problem now is that my hitch is way too big. It cannot even clear the spare wheel cover thus i cannot even hook it uo.. Did some research and found the http://www.mchitch.com.au/. Might give that a go. Once I have that setup, I will look at the springs or airbags.

Has someone flipped your Axel under the springs ? If so and your not bottoming out with the back of the van put it back on top of the springs
Over capitalized NK.I'm running out of things to add to it it died , now a SWB NJ with all the good stuff from the NK on it .

I used an OZHITCH. Very pleased with it as it is low and so easy to connect with. I bought the conversion kit to get rid of my Tregg type hitch. (which was a bastard to connect up to in various settings when on the road)

Find great deals for off road and 4 x 4 hitches and couplings that suit a range of offroad vehicles, caravans and trailers. Call OzHitch today!

I have heard that before. The guy i bought it from, said it is an offroad camper. Had a look and the axels sit above the springs, so it looks if it must be so?

Had a look and they cheaper than the mchitch as well. Does it just fit on the standard towball? And is it DIY? Its really become a very frustrating and expensive exercise . And its still unladen......things will change again after its loaded up as well.....

In that case bugger only other thing I could suggest is drop a rim size on the van( cheap but you'll loose clearance ) or jack up the car ( expensive but has coolness factor )

Or add a 1" to 2" spacer between the van hitch and draw bar on the van

Wouldnt i need to try and get the hitch lower?

So i fitted the McHitch today. So much for clearing the rear door. But its a great piece of equipment. So easy to hookup now. I might get a bit of a rear lift behind but only slightly. Dont know what to do with the rear door, its not super important but would have been nice because McHitch promotes this product for that specific reason.

I would put the hitch back the other way (to clear the door) and invest in some lifted springs/airbags. Bushskinz will be able to help you out with advice/sales (site sponsor).
