Question Tracks around Brisbane? for 'training'

Hi,

I am new to the 4x4 thing, I did a 4WD training course last week which I enjoyed big time but I am still far away from knowing what I do out there.

What I would like to do is go out there and do some 'easy' tracks to gain some experience but I would not know where to go to for just a daytrip around Brisbane.

Would anybody know some (legally accessible) Powerline tracks or similar around Brisbane to give the Paj (and myself) some workout on the weekend.

Thank you for a few hints.

Cheers Trish

Thank you for your answers. We did check out the Mt Mee area on Sunday and had a really nice day there. Still some more tracks to check out (maybe next week or so).

Budgie,
could you define the Beerwah option a bit more? whereabouts would you suggest to go there?

Cheers Trish

Bellthorpe has a mix of easy with a couple of moderate spots. I was there 2days ago and There was one descent that was a bit hairy (muddy slop and deep ruts)
But there is always the ability to get out a different way. So you're never going to get truly stuck.
It's always a good idea to travel with another car with at least some basic recovery gear.

There is another thread here for a day trip on Anzac day which is going to be local. The guys on here around brisbane are easy going and full of useful tips/experiences and are willing to help you learn and won't put you in any danger or force you to do anything you aren't keen on.
