Default Reverse Sensor not recognizing towbar mode

Hi all, got the HR bar (fully concealed) installed a couple weeks ago and its been driving the reverse sensor/sonar nuts. Or should I say its driving me nuts...I followed the manual and did a long press on the sensor button and got the 2 beeps to activate trailer mode, but this seems to work on and off.

Most times i engage reverse and the beep is full noise from the get go. Other times it works as normal. And sometimes it will come on sporadically. 90% of the time I am not towing when this happens, its just picking up the ball and tongue.

Anyone had this issue or know of a resolution?

Yep, but not usually with the HR ball...
I usually use a big clunky andersen hitch ball which always sets it off and the 3 second press never seemed to do anything, so I just put up with it. But it mostly didn't go off when using the much smaller HR hardware... I didn't bother with the 3 second press with the HR setup as it didn't set it off anyway

That's very annoying. Didn't ever, have such a problem with my HR tow pack, is the tongue oriented upside down, with the HR label below? If so you will have to turn the tongue 180 degrees and also refix the ball to point upwards. Since it is a dedicated pack you could also call HR customer support to trouble shoot.

Why not just take off the hitch when you're not using it?

It used to be law, and I think it was a mistake that it is no longer the case.

I'll ask the dealer next service I guess. Will take the ball off in the meantime
