    17" Wheel compatibility

    I'm looking for some wisdom re wheel compatibility. I'm after a 17" rim to throw on the roof rack when I head up the Strzelecki track in a few weeks.

    My NS GLS has J17 x 7 1/2 JJ 46 (alloy) rims. I can get hold of a NP alloy with exactly the same specs. (Wheel finish is slightly different, but its only for a second spare). Are these compatible? Is the stud pattern the same?

    I've answered my own question and hope this is useful information for others looking to take a second spare on remote trips.

    I've tested a wheel from an NP (Exceed) today and it fits my NS GLX perfectly. Clearance to the brake caliper is the same as my NS rims. The inner hub diameter is also the same - ie the rim is a nice 'press fit' on to the hub.

    All set to head off up the Strz to Innamincka!!!
