Bull bar and scrub bar Transport

    Hi All,

I am looking at buying a bullbar and scrub bar for my NX from Queensland.
Do you have any recommendations on packaging to make sure it gets down to Adelaide safe?
Would loads of bubble wrap ensure it gets here safely?
They are all aluminium so not overly heavy just bulky

    Thanks in Advance

Wrap in copious amounts of bubble wrap then strong cardboard wrapped around and taped.

I bought a bullbar for my NW from a guy in Lismore. I had to arrange freight. I looked around and eventually settled on TNT. The local agent asked if I had an account. No I didn't, so he said that I could use theirs. Cost would be $90 to transport to Cooma. He asked for dimensions etc. From memory, I estimated 2 m x 0.5 m x 0.7 m. Eventually, the bill came to me - $285. Naturally, I queried this and was told that the package was larger than what I had said. It was mounted to a small pallette which made it higher. I had no choice but to pay it. I was not happy, and to this day will not use TNT ever again if I have the choice. So if you are going to get your bars transported, make sure that the dimensions are known to the carrier. A friend of mine had even more wonderful experience with TNT. I don't normally badmouth people or companies, but this one takes the cake. The sad part is that most of the large couriers are not much better. They do not seem to care for the little guy - only large companies with repeat loads are preferred. So if you have the option, I would go for a smaller carrier.

Pack ‘n send is probably worth a look too. They specialise in the “small guy” one off items.

Most carriers do not included insurance in their freight charges, for damage or loss of your goods that they are carrying for you.

Frieght transport is often either classed on "feathers or weight" logic, if it very light but bulky/awkward shaped it will go on the dimensions of the freight for pricing if it is or otherwise if within a pallet space will generally go be priced according to how heavy the freight is.

With the bar being 2metres in length I dare say they would have priced for two pallet spaces, with a pallet space being 1.2m in length or width. Not saying it's fair just generally how it use to be though.

Freight wasn't overly expensive it was getting them both packaged as the seller couldn't do it.

Cant complain as long as they arrive in one piece!
Hopefully will be delivered on Friday
