try these guys on ebay amalgamatedlocksmiths, got 2 remotes last year and have not had a problem with them. they give instructions on how to program them yourself, simple

I did, i thought of having a flip key with a built in remote would be good so i can have a spare key if anything happens to it.

Might at this stage just buy a remote, seen one on ebay for $40.

I paid about $90 for a generic on ebay five years ago. Worked fine. Programmed it myself.

I was surprised when a non franchise locksmiths tried to pull the same shit.

All the locksmiths know what the dealerships are getting away with and will just go along with it.
They are paying less than you and me for the blanks, the cut cost is negligible and they can do the programming using up a little time.

Why wouldn't they take advantage of the sell price set up by the dealerships............

All that said, they have overheads that you and I don't have in our backyards.
