Hi all, i have no idea what to look for when purchasing a catch-can or what is a reasonable price. Can anyone recommend good brands and prices for the NT please?
I have read the ProVent link above and that's very helpful thanks.
They super easy to install, correct?.

Fit the egr unit first. After this then fit the provent unit. Simple to install. Buy the kit that suits your vehicle. . I bought my kit from Western Filters. Cannot remember price..Dicko. FNQ

[QUOTE=Dicko1;500128]Fit the egr unit first.
x2
If more than 150k i'd be inclined to clean inlet manifold and not bother with catch can.
If around 100k and not wanting to reset tappets until 150k or so I'd be inclined to fit a catch can and clean inlet manifold at the same time as tappet adjustment. The catchcan should slow down additional accumulation of sludge. I'm taking this option.
My reasoning behind not fitting catch can when you have cleaned the inlet manifold is that without the recirculated gas the oil should not turn to black sludge but create a film on the inlet manifold with excess being delivered to cylinders.

I don't run a catch can myself, but choose wisely if you decide to go down this path. From what I read (when I considered fitting one), if the catch can blocks, doesn't have some sort of vent / pressure relief or is an inadequate size you can end up causing more issues than you are trying to avoid.2013 NW VRX

That is why you buy a top model...provent. MAKE sure you do not use smaller diameter than factory hoses either. As I have posted on here before. My oil stays very clean indeed.. This will translate that my manifold will also be clean.Dicko. FNQ

Times two on what Dicko said
Buy the good brands like Mann/Provent they have relief valves built in and if you buy the full kit you will get the brackets and nuts and bolts hoses and clamps

and be aware of fakes
The extract from the above link:
"On the side of the Provent 200 is a pressure regulator that works to manage internal pressure as the input into the can changes with engine speeds and load. ...."
"The second safety device built into the Provent 200 is the pressure relief valve in the lid. Should the element ever block, or any internal blockage occur, the Provent vents to atmosphere protecting your engine, and your various seals in particular, as the crankcase pressure will be forced to find another way out. ..."NW M14, GLXR, spare wheel lift kit, MM tow bar, bushskinz front/sump/auto/trans/rear bumper guards and side steps, rhino pioneer platform, ARB delux bullbar

I have a Provent style catch can. It does collect quite a bit of oil.
As has been stated above read all the threads on pros and cons. I personally believe that it will help in oil/ sludge build up in the intercooler.
The main hassle for me was fitting the catch can with the snorkel. I think I have posted pics of install on this forum somewhere. I had to make my own bracket and adapter fittings for the pipes to/ from the existing Mitsubishi pipe from manifold to turbo intake pipe as the original fittings are an odd size.2010 NT DiD Platinum, MM tow bar, Red Arc electric brake controller, ARB Delux bullbar, Ultimate HD suspension and shocks, Engineers cert for GVM upgrade, Airtech snorkle, Cooper ST Maxx, 2nd Battery+ extra sockets, catch can, intercooler/ sump/ transmission guard, scan guage II, Hid driving lights, Ironman awning, daytime driving lights + other little bits

So what stops the hose blocking up and causing an issue without the catch can?2011 NT GLX - Hankooks, 2in Kings/Oztec, SmartBra, XTM Spotties, Warn XD9000, UHF, AutoMate, Ultraguage, Flat Rack, Awning, RedArc Dual Battery System... LOOKING TO BUY FACTORY SIDE STEPS...
