    DIY Drawers

I have been wanting to add some drawers to the Pajero since I had it to allow me to carry and store my camping equipment and stuff.

I finally decided to get to building it seeing as there is no retailer that currently does them for the NG Pajero...... plenty of places for Landcruisers and Patrols etc.... but thats my beef lol

anyways I started by measuring the area I had available to me..... not a lot as it has a gas tank fitted in the cargo area right behind the rear seats.

anyways I decided to give it a whirl.... now as i dont actually have a workshop, or saw bench or router bench or pretty much anything else... I had to tackle this using a circular saw and a jigsaw..... we recently removed the old kitchen in our house to install a brand new one and I still had the old melamine pantry sitting here so that was the material sorted...

First came the side walls which I had to cut to fit over the gas tank angle and bolts

once I had the walls figured out... it was simply a matter for making the slide for the fridge and frames for the drawers

then came the drawers themselves and boxing the gas tank

this project is still under way....
I still need to get hold of some marine carpet to cover the whole thing in
    and line the drawers....
after all thats done I will probably fill in the sides with tops to make a continuous deck across the back....
I will also need to fit the second battery and the DC converter and Aux plugs

i will keep you posted as to the progress

I still havent secured it at this stage...
but I am planning on using the existing anchor rings that are fitted to the car
I am thinking at this stage I will use a turn buckle style to secure it to them

so far so good as far as the rattles
and once it is lined with carpet that should quieten it all the more

about the only noise i get from them at this stage is the junk in the drawers lol

but as yet i still havent tried them on any rough surface as such

I have had to do a slight modification to the left drawer
as you can see in the pic... where I cut out the top corners to allow the slides to exit wasnt very neat
so I made a new front panel for the drawer and made it a snugger fit and have the face of the drawers and deck all flush now
