Gen 4 Pajero factory rock sliders

Got a little crafty on the weekend and finally tackled a project i had long put off. I was able to reinforce the factory side step by cutting, trimming and adding a 3mm 40x40 SHS with 5mm flat plate steel bracing.

I wouldn't really consider them as a rock slider but more of a side step bash bar to protect the stills from way ward logs & ruts etc whilst maintaining the factory look. I may look to add a slider bar to the bottom of the mounts should i need.

I picked up a second set of factory side steps just encase it didn't turnout well but overall I'm pretty happy with the result. So if anyone want to do something similar and needs another pair i have my originals.

Just posting to give others inspiration if there looking for something similar.

Nice work. Got any more pics? I'm considering a rock slider upgrade soon.

I did a very similar thing, retaining the factory look, but changing the frame to 40x40RHS.
        Nice work

thanks guys, just let me know what pictures your after and ill see what i can do. Overall it was pretty easy, mostly straight cuts and welds so nothing to tricky. I did give it the "jack" test which lifted one side of the car up with the floor jack, no bending and a small amount of flex but lined back up after i dropped it back down.

But i have noticed a bit of rubbing between the plastic and metal wearing back the paint so i might have to re-just and get it power coated.

            Thanks for the like guys

              like it. nice work
I went with bushskinz ones. the steps I had on my NT are different and were lower and probably not suitable for this.

gotta love a bit of DIY work

Looks really neat, but if you have side airbags you've just voided your insurance....
