If you have the scanner working on a 3.2 diesel, we would all like to know more!

Why is the 3.2 Diesel not compliant? I also ordered a scanner online and is awaiting delivery. Did I waste my money? How do you read fault codes on the Gen3 3.2 D-ID if it's not OBD2 compliant?
Australian delivered Gen 3s were not OBD compliant, but the US made OBD compliance compulsory from about 1996.
As you're in South Africa, your vehicles may have been OBD compliant earlier than ours?

I received my OBD2 scanner and just as expected, the 2001 Pajero 3.2 is not compliant.... Well, atleast it worked on the Amarok, so it is not all lost. I am contemplating doing a Lexus V8 conversion anyway.
