Have replaced plenty of strut inserts in road cars over the years without any issue at all using normal threaded rod type spring compressors, but when I tried them on the Pajero struts they did not look good at all.

Instead I spent $50 at a local car workshop for him to do it on his free standing, pnueamatic strut compressor.
I usually dispise spending money on somethng something there is not reason I can't do myself, but this I felt was money well spent.

The local spring works where I bought the springs from was also going to charge me the same $50, but the local workshop was only around the corner.

$120? Guess
Had to get springs changed over just recently on the Jeep and couldn't do it at home as the compressors I've got wouldn't fit between the coils so paid someone.
When looking the usual price was $120-$150 (one place wanted $120 per strut )
Found a place to do it for $100 for the pair which was the lowest locally.
