Good evening all. My NM 2.8td has decided that rather than running on pure diesel it also likes a nip of coolant. It has been using a bit of coolant for a while but the last few weeks it has got bad. Steams like a kettle at idle from the exhaust. Apart from that it runs like a champ, doesnt use any oil and still good on fuel. I've concluded either the head or head gasket is kaput, and while I'm at it I'll chuck a new timing chain in. My question is, an AMC complete head is around $1800 vs $1000 for a kiwi head vs $1300 from Repco (which I suspect is a kiwi head anyway). I will be using genuine chain but what are peoples thoughts on what head to use?
