That was my first thought - my chinese double din with WinCE came with a version of igo 8. But igo seems to specialise in custom navigation systems, they also have an iphone app, and I found a youtube vid claiming you can install a version of igo on Android. So I'm completely confused...

      Nakamichi

What was the end result with the Nakamichi GPS dilemma? 12 months on, and Nakamichi and retailers are no more forthcoming. They just suggest shrug their shoulders and suggest buying the Nakamichi antenna and GPS software (which is some form of IGO) at abuot twice the price of the head unit! Basically I am looking to move my IGO GPS software SD card out of my (dead) chinese no-name unit and plug it into a new (alive) Nakamichi na1650. How did you go in the end with putting software and antennas on yours?

Hey Greggy, yeah finally got it going. It turns out it was compatible with a few different map brands but it wouldn't work without the antenna. I did try various other GPS antenna but couldn't find one that was compatible. After a very long time waiting and searching I found an overseas seller that could supply the genuine nakamichi GPS antenna (at a very cheap price because of fire/smoke damage) and it came with the mapping software. Its a very good unit if you can find the antenna but they are quite rare. And your right about nakamichi customer service, it is basically non-existent. Good luck with it.
