Just bought a new (2nd hand but used once by a 71 yearold lady and she didnt like it) DARCHE AT6 air tent . It was used once and comes with a couple of spare parts. Paid $350 which I thought was too good a deal to ley go. Very impressed with the amount of room and the fact that it takes about 80 seconds to inflate all 3 legs and centre spine. Then put pegs in and tie down. 5 minutes , tops. Has anyone else used one of these tents as I checked reviews and all were good? This style of tent is big in Europe and for some reason doesnt seem to be as commonplace here.

A mate of mine has one. Not Darche, but one he imported from Europe. He really likes it, very easy and quick to setup.
He has 2 main gripes about it though. It is stupidly heavy, and has very poor ventilation, so on a warm day it becomes unbearable in the tent.NW VRX MY2013

Of course inflating a tent is camping, of course.
But maybe... inflating a tent is cheatingNX GLS MY16 Auto: MM Towbar | Spare Lift Kit | Cooper ST MAXX 265/65R17 | SPVi Module mk3.1 | Autosafe Half Cargo Barrier | Torque Pro App | Donaldson 3um 2ndry Fuel Filter | Diff Breathers | GME4500 UHF | Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform | Roley's Rear Bash Plate | Bushskinz Underbody Protection | Airtec Snorkel | Onboard Compressor | Awning | ARB Deluxe Bar | Lightbar | Sherpa4x4 Winch | Bushskinz Sidesteps | Masten TPMS

I was seriously considering getting one of those, but finished up getting an extended touring tent. (Dune Kimberley plus for $399).
If I'd had the option of a Darche AT6 for $350 I would have jumped at it too.
Incidentally, this reminds me I have to go and pick up my new Kulkyne airpole swag tomorrow.Merts

WELL ....SOME HOME TRUTHS..
Put the tent up in backyard for 1st time. 40 minutes later it was up. Had an issue with an air plug..plus I reckon that the way the pump connects to tent plug is rather agricultural. Why not a screw on thread instead of a simple push on that can come off easy. Anyway it was erected and reckon next time will only take 15 mins from start to finish, including pegs. Very roomy inside. BLOODY HOT. Definately will need the windows open. Luckily there is heaps of mesh ventilation available. YES..IT IS HEAVY..33KGS. Certainly wont be backpacking with it. However the bucket type floors will be excellent for wet season downpours up here(one of the main reasons I purchased this tent. Only 2 poles needed for front extension fly. Like the idea of the central internal divide. I,ll probably never use it but when the southern freeloaders come up for holidays they may use it...
Its amazing how cheap camping gear can be brought on gumtree up this way. Heaps of backpackers do the Cape trip and the Daintree, then sell all their gear cheap before heading back to Europe or down south.
