Sadly I fear there will be more of these across many brands, particularly as the cars get much older, as is the case with these 20 year old BMWs.
One news report said, apart from not driving the cars, to see if BMW would buy the car back. I assume BMW might be trying to protect their reputation by getting the cars off the road - I guess their value would be fairly low at 20y.o. & perhaps there are no replacement airbags available for such old cars, or the cost may be more than the cars are worth?Pajero NX MY21 GLS
