That's cheap! So many fridges look so similar it makes you wonder weather they're just re badged from the same factory.

I only purchase Engel...expensive but have never had an issue in decades. I have had Trailblazer but too heavy for the Pajero....fine for a trailer or ute.

I think you'd be better off either; using an esky for longer and saving a bit more for a reputable brand that is proven and has some level of after sales support; or buying a second hand reputable brand fridge (if you keep an eye out, you can get them cheap ones - I managed to get an Australian made fibreglass 50ltr Evakool via eBay auction for under $300 a couple of years ago! ).

I don't know about fridges, but with some appliances, the cheap 'no brand' stuff is disposable and can't be cost effectively repaired when out of warranty. This is another consideration for buying a reputable brand.

Specs also quote different "temperature drop" in different places - 35 degrees in one spot, 30 degrees in another. Based on the higher figure, above 35 degrees ambient, it won't freeze. In the 45 degrees we experienced in the Simpson two weeks ago, the interior would be no lower than 10 degrees - drinks would still be refreshingly cool, but you'd also be drinking your ice cream.

Project: NJ SWB. 285/75R16 ST Maxx, 2" OME suspension, 2" body lift, ARB 110, 120l tank, bullbar, scratches, no major dents. Fully engineered in SA. NW DiD & auto in place - a long way to go....

At 10 degrees, your food/meet will also no longer be safe to consume (see https://www.choice.com.au/home-and-l...perature-guide ).

In nj_swb's example, also consider how much hotter the interior of your car gets, compared to the ambient temperature, when parked in summer. On a 45 degree day, it could easily be 50-55 degrees inside the car.

Default fridge brand

This unit is identical to the anaconda unit advertised at $599 & 52ltrs cold station as I have one. They are coming out of China with your own brand. I have had mine about 3yrs and the only fault is the lifting handles are too close to the body. Works great
