    MJ Triton

My son is looking at buying a second hand MJ Triton V6, just wondering if there is anyone out there that has or had one and could give me some feed back on what there like.
    Thanks,
    Steve

mechanically they are identical to a 91 on pajero, except they have manual free wheeling hubs and no super select transfer case.
Mechanically they have the same problems as pajero's with worn synchros on 2nd and 3rd gear and problems with blown headgaskets or cracked heads from overheating. Also harmonic balancers coming loose and stuffing the nose of the crankshaft. Make sure there is a record of the cambelt being changed as well. Ask if fuel pump has been changed too. I replaced mine as a precautionary measure and it made a big difference in performance.
Long wheelbase (3000mm), combined with stiff rear suspension can be a pain in off road situations. The rear LSD is good though.
