Default GU Patrol Rims for an Exceed?

I want to drop down to 17's on my Exceed for cheaper tyres and I've seen a fair few people using GU Patrol rims. I don't want to open a can of worms but I would love a definitive answer on whether they are suitable or not, as people are arguing over rims being stud or hub centric. Is there any factual articles or references out there instead of just going by random people's hearsay?

Thanks all

Offset of +46 to zero is a massive change. Almost double the legal increase in track, massive change in scrub radius and steering loads, I expect massive kick back in the steering when driving offroad.

People do it, but I wouldn't.

46mm, they must have some pretty decent flares to keep stones etc from destroying the paintwork!
