Timing or Valves?

Hi
I've just changed timing belt & water pump in 2000 challenger after water pump seized & melted belt! The motor runs but sounds like it's only on 2-3 cylinders.
Have checked timing marks again, all lined up. Mechanic says it's not timing as motor wouldn't run at all? Wondering if it's damaged valves? Doesn't make any rattling noises in top end though. Any ideas?

Check your plug leads faulty connection or possibly they may be mixed up from correct order ... also when was the last time you changed your spark plugs ?

Haven't touched plugs or leads. They where working fine prior to issues with water pump & replacing belt etc. I'm thinking I will have to do a compression test to see if valves are damaged? Will check/change them then I s'pose.
