When I changed from the Yokohama H/T 265/65/17 to Cooper ATR 265/70/17 it felt sluggish immediately. Fuel usage went up by 1L/100KM. This would be due to the combo of an increase in tyre size and a slightly more aggressive tread pattern

It would probably look a little funny with 2" lift and 265/65/17, but how important is fuel economy vs looks for you?

Any chance of a couple of photos guys just to see what the different sizes look like on the mighty Pajero.

275/70x17 and HD springs vs 265/65x17 and 2" lift

          Pros-
          don't get bogged anymore
Nice low revs at 115 kms cruising-lopes along
Nice riding position-look down on all the er.........peasants ...(sorry you guys)

          Cons-
A real pig in town (auto) wants to change into 5 th all the time at 1200 RPM (wish it had an overdrive lock out button)
Body roll in the tight stuff (bilstein and HD Lovells fitted)
Difficulty in getting replacement 275/70x17 grey import size tyres (BFG AT)

Overall, Im happy and more confident that I can handle most obstacles that other 4WD vehicles can handle. My driving style has changed because i have to slow for tight corners(bitumen)-that's a good thing

Additional fuel consumption since fitting larger tyres-possibly

          regards chow

Off topic a little, have you tinted the rear windows darker, or is it just the angle?

They came with Privacy glass on all windows except the front doors and windscreen. I've been told it's equivalent to a 20% tint but I had Tint-a-car fit their darkest legal which matches pretty well.

Mine's the same year and model as eman's

Yea, mine has privacy glass too, it looks stupid without having the fronts tinted (on the to do list). Emans just look really dark is all.

I think it is just the angle, I've gone the darkest legal on all windows. From memory my 09 GLS didn't come with privacy glass

My NS is a v6 3.8 auto. Tires are 275/65-18 which are almost the same as 275/70-17. I did lose some grunt going with big tires and LT construction. But I am happy with it.
                    Few questions though,
How can I tell if the torque converter is locked or unlocked?
Is it worth it going with 33" tires? (275/70-18 or 285/65-18)

Soon: diff's, gearbox&transfer case breathers, reduction gears, full underbody protection, ARB rear airlocker and the list goes on...

What size rims and tyres are you running? Also how long after fitting the lift was this photo taken and had you had a wheel alignment on it in the photo post lift?
