Default Outboard motor help

Hi all, I figured there is likely someone here that'll know so here goes!

I'm replacing the tilt motor on my outboard (75hp Mariner 2st). To do so the whole motor/ram assembly comes out first, which entails removing the upper and the lower pivot point pins.

I've removed the top one, but for the life of me cannot get the bottom pin out. Smashed it pretty good with a punch and big hammer (4lb club), and in the correct direction as per the service manual. It will not budge!
Trying more and more Inox on it hoping it might free up, but it gets sprayed frequently anyway and I wouldn't think it would be corroded in solid but maybe it is.

So, any tips?
Don't have a blowtorch so I cannot try heat... even then I'd be a bit apprehensive.

Default Pivot removal.

My son in law had a Johnson outboard with a pin a dealer could not remove to access and repair the hydraulic lift seal.
I tried penetrants over a week or so then made up a super heavy slide hammer that extracted the pin without damage, although it took a lot of hammering to get it out.
The problem pin had about a 10 mm threaded extractor hole so I extended a high tensile bolt into a slide hammer with about a 2 kg weight.
I considered heat but even with an elaborate shield it looked like causing damage.

Rather than a blowtorch an electric heat gun is a good way of heating things up with damaging them as you can control the temperature thermostatically.

Unfortunately no threaded section on this pin. I've contemplated trying to get my hands on a slide hammer and see if I can get that to work somehow...

Ah I do have an electric heat gun. Didn't think about using that, might give it a go tomorrow after some more Inox soaking in overnight. But it's a glass boat so must be careful with the heat.

Cheers OJ, will let you know how it goes.

Have a close look at the pin. I have heard of factory instructions being wrong before - stating the punch was to be driven out in the wrong direction.

I did give it a tap from the other end just to see, and to maybe help break any bond, but still noting. From what I can tell it appears though that I am meant to bash it out in the direction shown in the instructions- the end I'm hitting looks like it has a little chamfer on it as if it's the end that gets inserted first on installation.

Innox is the best of the commonly sourced sprays but there is a specialist product called Chesteton 723 from Imatech that is a super penetrating spray. I have used this when Inox has not worked on seized Aircraft undercarridge pins.

Have you tried swearing at it, loudly?

Aside from that Iíve come across a product that chills. Itís an aerosol I picked up at Bunnings. If itís too difficult to heat the outside maybe try cooling the pin.

Lots of loud swearing. Normally that works!

Ok the chill thing is on the list too if I have no luck tomorrow with the heat...cheers.
