Agree 100% really enjoyed it. So many things done that now days would not be possible or legal. I am glad I was kid growing up in the 60's and 70's, with a sense of adventure from being a Scout, feed on a "diet" of Malcolm Douglus and Leyland Brothers and I was most fortunate to have gone the Scouts and school with the children of Len Beadell. Len was a regular visitor to our Scout Troop where he held very entertaining slide shows of his adventures. Even in the early to mid 80's it was still possible to cross the Simpson and not see anyone for 5 days and if you saw more than a half dozen vehicles each day up the Cape or in the Kimberley you considered it busy!

Brilliant footage. Great to watch. Such a simple concept to float the cars and trailer across the rivers. As they say necessity is the mother of all invention.

They were following a working telegraph line - climb a pole, cut some wires and wait for help.

Good to see you could travel Australia with a factory vehicle without being told you need to drop $15k at your local ARB store before you hit the dirt.

I still get to catch up with Norm and was privy to the original footage before a mate edited it to be publishable. He us still a character and glad a group of us talked him into letting "all" see his exploits
