    oil filter sandwich adapter

    Hi all
Is there anybody out there who can help me source a 26mmx1.5mm adapter to fit an adapter plate between engine body and oil filter on a 2013 NW. I want to install an oil pressure and oil temp gauge for towing purposes. Internet searches haven't come up with anything, even good 'ol ebay has nothing, only go to 22mm. I have resorted to doing this as Torque Pro doesn't have the option to read these values.
    Thanks

Putting this out there as an option to the sandwich plate idea as it might be cheaper and easier to source

Get yourself a T adapter to run an oil gauge sender from the same place the engine picks up the warning light switch. Using VDO stuff makes it about $100 all up for the adapter and gauge/sender.
IMO an engine oil temp gauge is not really needed in the Paj given the amount it can (or can't) tow but if you are willing to loose the oil pressure warning light in the dash cluster you might be able to get a T adaptor with the right thread types that can run a temp sender and pressure sender in the one hit.

      Hi dhula
      Thanks for that input.
Had thought about that but not sure if ECU would chuck a wobbly if it didn't sense oil pressure.

The oil temp gauge is a good idea, but fitting a probe to the oil pressure switch tapping may give strange readings because of its proximity to the exhaust. Certainly fitting a Tee piece to the pressure switch and then fitting the gauge and switch is a possible choice.

          oil gauges

The oil pressure switch is very difficult to access.
It is much easier to fit an oil pressure sandwich plate between the oil filter and oil filter attachment.
Both Oil pressure & oil temperature sensors can be screwed into the sandwich plate.
The sandwich plate can be purchased on ebay.

If you want to install a oil temp gauge, drill the sump out and install 1/8 NPT sender then hook up, simpler solution

              Hi

Do the east European paj's have sump heaters? I know Volvos did. If they do wonder if its a different sump with a tapping.
Or can a tee piece be fitted inline with the sump plug tapping.??

If you fitted a T piece in the sump plug, and fitted a temperature gauge to that, it would not be measuring the proper oil temperature because the sensor would be external to the engine and not measuring the temperature of the oil INSIDE the sump. If you wanted to fit a temperature sensor, you could get a socket fitting welded to the outside of the sump, and then carefully drill a hole through the fitting to tap in to the sump. Personally, I don't see the need to measure the oil temperature. Apart from knowing what the temperature is, there is nothing you can do to reduce the temperature if you consider that it is too high. You are better off being blissfully ignorant of the temperature. It is the same really for oil pressure gauge as well - if the pressure is low, what can you do about it?
