Finally got to use my TC off switch in sand. I had 2 attempts at a beach exit up an incline. 1st attempt TC kicked in and bogged me down. 2nd with TC off felt much smoother and made it up.
With more speed I could have made it up 1st go but am wary these days after doing a CV. My mate with an NX auto took 1 go but was going faster and said his TC was kicking in quite a bit.
I really haven't had a chance to try the switch out properly before this. Might be useful on our planned Fraser trip later this year.
Cheers,
James07 NS DiD GLX Manual, Alloy Bullbar, 2" lift, Bilstein shocks, King Springs, Kumho MT51, Oricom UHF088, Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, Airtec Snorkel, Bushskinz Intercooler Guard, Boo's Sump and Tansmission Bash Plates

Front or front and rear
Hi Vlad
Does this mod cause the traction control to remain on for just the front wheels? I’m just thinking that you wouldn’t want traction control on at the rear with the diff locked. But perhaps with the diff locked the system will never detect that left or right wheel is spinning faster than other so won’t interfere at the rear?Go hard or go home

Ok just wonder why MM would deactivate the traction control with diff locked ? They must be worried it may cause an issue. With the centre diff locked and the rear diff locked, I think the only thing the traction control will do is brake front right or left if they start to spin. I definitely see that as an advantage.
I assume MM must be concerned that at some stage TC will intervene at the rear and try and apply brakes to one wheel which of course won’t be good with rear and centre diffs locked.
So just wondering if anyone has experienced any issues or if they have noted any major improvements .Go hard or go home

I recently did the traction control mod on my NS. I put a relay in so I can enable/disable the mod. To test it I took it to a short sandy incline with cross-axle holes. I can easily get up it with only traction control on, and I can easily get "stuck" with only rear diff lock on so it's the perfect test. I put the rear lock on with the TC mod off and duly became immobile. I engaged the TC mod and watched the wheel lights on the dash as the TC worked to get me moving again. It did get me moving, but I was surprised to see one front wheel and both rear wheel lights flashing. I have always assumed the the wheel light flashing meant the TC was working on that wheel, and if that is the case, it was working on one front wheel and both back wheels with the diff lock engaged.
There is some good discussion on benifits and possible issues on the thread...

TC Patch Loom
Hi Vlad,
I am new to the forum but have been following this thread for some time now.
I have a 2014 Manual 3.2 Pajero. Am interested in purchasing the full TC Patch Loom, a single three position switch or two separate on/off switches - either way is OK.
I am looking for the ability to 1) Turn TC ON when Diff Lock is ON and 2) Turn TC OFF without turning on the Diff Lock.
I am probably more likely to use the first setting more as I do more driving in the "High Country" than I do in sand, but I have a big trip planned for central Australia later in the year so both functions are likely to get used.
Are you still taking orders?
Best Regards - Philip Lange2014 NW White Manual, Recaro seats, Bilstein shocks and Lovells HD springs, Polyair Ultimate Airbags, Bull Bar, Bashplates, Winch, Dual Batteries, 45 litre fridge on custom slide, Cargo Barrier, 9" LED driving lights, Snorkel, UHF, idoing head unit, upgraded speakers, dynamat sound deadening, Vlad's Traction Control Mod, Toyo OPAT2 on 17" Steel Rims.
