    Goodyear wrangler at adventure anyone?

Any info on these tyres? Looking at LT265/70R17 121/118S size.

I currently have Nankang AT-5 that I got new with the car so was no reason to change them - they are not very aggressive (I guess?) but did surprisingly well for me, but I can't find them here in 17" size and LT construction.

Will these Wranglers be a good replacement? I'm worried that although the reviews are mostly positive, there's number of disappointed people calling it the worst purchase and the worst Goodyear tyre which I didn't expect (stating everything from punctures and balancing issues to bad wet and snow performance).

Goodyear Wrangler Adventurer AT Kevlar has a low tread width to carcass width ratio.

This means is the tread width is narrow compared to the carcass width of the tyre, so this means there is less rubber on the road and the shoulder of the tyre is more exposed and more likely to be damaged when off road.

I do not have the exact tread width measurements for 265's but I do have them for 235's.

Wrangler Adventurer AT LT235/85R16 trad width 160mm wide.
Cooper ST Maxx LT235/85R16 tread width 190mm wide. So this tyre tread is 30mm wider!

The Wrangler Adventurer is a mild AT tread pattern and there are certainly better AT tyres available in similar and more aggressive tread patterns.

Thanks, that helps. Although on the other hand it makes it even more difficult as this tread width data isn't available for many tyres.

Surely there are better tyres, just trying to find something that exists here in the required size and that I can afford... For comparison:
      TA KO2 - 280AUD vs 414NZD
Wrangler Duratrac - 307AUD vs 382NZD (inc discount)

        Hi Pronvit,

If you are heading off road in NZ then I would be looking at a Hybrid AT/MT as they are much better in the mud than a mild AT as the tread wraps around onto the shoulder and sidewall. Yes they will be nosier but off road traction is greatly improved.

        Cooper ST Maxx.

Have you heard anything about AMP Terrain Gripper A/T? https://www.bgworldwheels.co.nz/cata.../t-102980.htmx

They look pretty aggressive and I think are considered hybrid as well.
