Should PC really get a new sub forum (Decided no Sub Forum)

Guys don't want to upset any mods or admin but should the PC really get a new section. Given it is basically a facelift model id be concerned it splits up our knowledge base. I dont think we are a big enough group and the differences to small to segregate us.

For example where does a PC owner post an engine issue question. And if mine was a PC where would I post the question I just posted about mirrors.

As readers too now we need to read both forums to make sure we dont miss some info or miss helping someone's problem. Then if nothing happens in the PC section for a while people can get sick of checking it and it loses support.

We found this same issue with the Grand Cherokee on the jeep forum as we are such a small group and this is with actual significant model changes over a designation change, which actually makes them a different vehicle. As a lot of the guys upgraded from one model to a newer one it also kept the knowledge base tight.

So what's the difference between the NT/NW which is just a facelift. Didn't see the Paj guys getting upset with it!
Some problems could be model specific as well!
But we will see how you guys vote then have a look at it!

1. No im not kidding. Its based on other similar sized forums ive seen.
2. Pajeros seem to be a much bigger market so I expect less of an issue but I dont read there.
3. I dont own a NT/NW or any other Pajero so I dont care what works for them.
4. I was actually trying to offer constructive help as I saw the issue so thought I'd get feedback from the people it was relevent to. Eg majority opinion.

I thought we were trying to foster a supportive and non aggressive forum.

I tend to agree with the original poster. As I read the specs, there's virtually no difference between the PB and PC and the new model seems to offer nothing more than cosmetic changes. Even they seem to be minimal. So why bother with another section? This forum is about offering advice and help, not fitting with MMAL's self-serving view of the world.

Agree. Absolutely no need for a new segment. If there was an engine change or some other significant difference I would vote the other way.

It will just make t harder to find the information we are seeking.

Certainly comes across that way when backed up with a negative emoticon. If that wasnt your intention then noted.

However whilst you still think your slant is correct, I still think my comparison is as valid as comparing to the Pajero market (and therefore forum size) is not. And saying PC owners have no say as they dont exist yet seems irrelevent. If down the track we find their numbers and unique issues warrant individuality then so be it but from what I read on the update it doesnt make sense, hence why I was putting it to the very people who contribute to our section. Im sorry but ive read nothing including your own interim reviews which indicate the PC is anything more than a cosmetic update.

I agree both ways, having run other forums and one that i still do.

Pickle is right model specific issues could arise, but in time when a new gen is released the current gen forums should be merged as it is for previous gen's

But they could also be one forum with stickies or sub forums for model specific issues.

Does it really matter how it is done, with all the free info and help received?
