Long ranger tank and exhaust options?

    Gday.

    I have a 2012 3.2TD NW Pajero.

It has the long ranger tank fitted.

I was wondering what the exhaust upgrade aftermarket options are out there, and whether i could install it without having to drop the rear aux tank.

Im wanting to upgrade the exhaust so it sounds a bit nicer.

I installed a scotts rods 3" exhaust on my old NP a few years ago and it made a nice tone.

    Cheers.

I’m looking at exhaust also but was concerned as a thread on here talked about the Scott’s Rod exhaust being a poor fit.

I have an NT with LRA aux tank and Beaudesert 3" exhaust fitted https://www2.pajeroclub.com.au/forum...1&postcount=16. It is a little tight around the tank but works without issue. Exhaust was installed after the tank went in, the installer needed to slightly modify the rear mounts to make sure there was sufficient clearance between the tank & exhaust.

Out of interest there is not a huge change in tone with the larger exhaust from factory fitted version.

      Cheers,
      Stephen

Well the scotts rod i had on my old NP was pretty good.
It was welded pretty well and i fitted it without too much issue.
Sounded great too. But i dont think they sell a NW kit.

Thanks for that scouter1. Do you mind me asking how much the install was?

I don't have a standalone install cost for my exhaust as it was part of an upgrade kit (ECU + exhaust) from MRT https://goo.gl/Gwfzqn - (shortened URL)

Cost for the Beaudesert exhaust kit varies from $1200 to $2300 depending on material & options selected https://beauexhausts.com.au/product/...iesel-exhaust/

          Cheers,

I fitted a system from factory direct 4x4 exhausts. I told them I had a LRA tank, and it fitted well. No drone when cruising either.

              Nice one
Is the tone of the exhausts heap better or just a bit?

Just a bit really. Can notice it more at idle and at low RPM.
