My Max Elery W/Shop manual tells me the tension is 3.9 N-m (2.9 ft lbs). That is not very much. Don't over-tighten them because you may distort the rocker cover.

Cheers but i am after the bolt torque for the bolts that hold the rocker gear in place not the rocker covers .

I know it is in the manual, maybe the one with all the engines from Mitsubishilinks.com

I did it recently but can't remember. I can look it up tomorrow if you don't find it

My Max Elery W/shop manual says 31 N-m for the "rocker arm - rocker shaft". That is 23 ft-lbs in real terns.

Well today i went to do my valve stem seal , removed every thing took one rocker cover off and took rocker gear off . No room to get my tool in to compress the spring , bother . At least i get to change my plugs and fix the oil leak on passenger side , just got to stop looking in the mirror when i take off .

Yeh i thought of that but could not be really bothered , the engine is still in the car and was tired of leaning over it . Did change the plugs put new lifters in and stopped oil leak on passengers side , that will do .

My Haynes W/S manual states 19 to 21 Nm torque for the camshaft bearing cap bolts and 90 Nm for the camshaft sprocket (left Hand Thread).
