Pajero / Triton / Challenger Supercharger Kits

I thought I would post this here to give people some idea's of what has been happening in the back ground.

RPW has been working for the past 12 months on producing a bolt on supercharger kit to suit the Mitsubishi four wheel drive 6G72/74/75 model engines in the SOHC 24 range.

Below are some teaser photos of the nearly completed kit. Utilising a MP62 generation 2 supercharger running 7 psi boost. We have used previously the Alpine kits but since they are no longer in production, we decided to make our own.

We don't have pricing yet but once this kit has been test fitted on a customers car (which will be done before xmas) we will release more information on it.

We have already got several computer systems available from piggy backs to full ems systems depending upon the model vehicle. Finally there will be a commercially available system back on the production for the Mitsubishi four wheel drive vehicles.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

ahhhh SOHC 24? i assume u mean the SOHC 12valve, and the DOHC 24 valve engines right?
If I agreed with you, then we would both be wrong

I'm not sure about the 6G72, but the 6G74 came in both DOHC (initially) and SOHC (later) versions. The SOHC version has less power, but better low rpm torque, so it's generally considered more "driveable" offroad.

Later (NM on I think) SOHC motors are 24 valve. They use a Y shaped rocker arrangement.

The reason why it sais TRD is we are using the TRD kit from the toyota range, but making adapters and new housings to make it fit hte Mitsubishi engine. Much quicker way of getting a kit rather than doing everything from complete scratch.

The Mitsubishi engine range came in three versions there is the

                  6G72 SOHC 12v motor between 1988 - 1993 range
                  6G72 / 74 / 75 SOHC 24v motor between 1993 - 2007
6G74 DOHC 24v motor from only two pajero models around 1997 - 1999 I believe.

These kits will only fit the SOHC 24v models although I imagine if someone really wanted to they could fit it to the DOHC model as well.

Fuel economy should remain the same or even possibly improve because it won't be boosting all the time under light throttle, and you won't have to mash the pedal so hard to make it accelerate any more.

This set-up is not for the "Rev Head" wanting to make high horsepower. This set-up will produce tonnes of torque from 1500 rpm all the way to red line. Its the equivalent of increasing the capacity of the engine by 50% especially at low rpms. Perfect for towing and four wheel driving.

i have gas injection on my pajero , will it stil be suitable for that aswell? also will the injectors on petrol have to be upgraded to cope with the boost. also does any thing have to be done to the ecu?

You could run it with gas yes.

Depending upon the model, a full replacement EMS system with six larger injectors is the best solution, some models can use a piggy back with a 7th injector (If you really want to go budget time, not recommended though).

These are all items which will be made available as part of the kit once its released.

It will be an exported product, but I cannot advise on the GDI model engines sorry as to whether it will fit up, much less what computer system you could use with it.

Sorry don't need any more test fitters, already have one customer with two vehicles which we are putting them onto now.

fair enough, will wait and watch for more updates, once it was up and running, would there be a chance that u could take it for a short drive to see how it feels compared to stock?
