Wow,that's a very impressive write up for HPR oil and i will most likely use it for my first home oil change with a MM filter, but my problem is my dealer uses Shell Helix HX7 10w-40 semi synthetic so i will have 7500 ks with two different oils,is this ok.
I could take my own oil with me to the next capped price service but don't know how they would react.
On another note, are Fumoto quick valves avialable in Australia,i've checked ebay and the price of freight is dearer than the plug it's self from USA.Sorry off topic. Craig

I also use HPR 5 as Micheal does. Oil filter I use is a Nippon Max. Also change air filter at every oil change.
As a side note. Last change I used Diesel Magnetec 15W40 and at 8000km's it was just above the low mark on the dip stick.
Change before this was HPR 5 and it was still on the full notch at drain. I change at 10000km's
My NP 3,8 V6 also drank Castrol oil. I have no answers. Except that I'm sticking with Penrite.
Oil analysis at 10000k with Penrite HPR 5 showed little degeneration and the oil was fine to keep using till 15000k's. I just change at 10000k's as it's easier to remember.
.Previously an NP GLX 3.8 auto RIP
          NS VRX DiD auto. RIP.

I have heard some pretty bad things about Magnetec oils. They are causing a lot of sludgiung when used over long periods especially if services have been missed. I haven't had too many dramas with penrite oils.

any oil will cause sludging if services are missed, once an oil reaches its saturation point of soot for a diesel the excess has to go somewhere and that is what causes sludge, not the oil.

This is true. A lot of the cases are petrol vehicles and have not necessarily missed a lot of services, but may have gone over a couple of times over time.

                      I run to 15k services..
oil testing shows that the oil is fine and would . most likely go further.

oil fklter every 15k. air if required. fuel every 30k.

                      dealer nope.

same effect different cause, in diesel it is the build up of soot, in petrol it is a build up of carbon.

                              Hi All

Ive recently bought a pre DPF 2016 NX Pajero 3.2 diesel , i'm not yet aquainted with the vehicle coming from a petrol Hilux , Patrol and Landcruiser back ground

For last 120,00km since purchased my UZJ100 4.7 V8 Cruiser i been using ULX110 10w/30 Custom Blend Engine Oil and Gear Oils made in Adelaide Sth Aust

This oil was recommend to me by a diesel truck mechanic who showed me oil analysis reports on severe driving conditions and extended oil change intervals in truck diesel engines where the oil retained its additive package protecting the engine , this would certainly fit the conditions of low range 4wding on tracks that take four to five hours to complete , sand driving , commuting in slow city traffic and towing

Further enquires amongst mate's revealed this is a popular engine oil with car enthusiasts/restorers with performance petrol modified engines for show in drag and circuit racing .

ULX110 make Diesel Supreme but only in 15w40 , and i was curious if that fits in the the recommended viscosity range for the NX and if any of you have any personal feedback of this product for passenger diesel engines

                              cheers
