GSA said the same as you.

All has been fitted by my local Fulcrum shop.

He is going to fit the OEM bushes now.

PS - only the passenger side has the problem.
If both rear top bushes are identical then they should fit both sides.
Very strange that it is only the passenger side which is causing a problem.
Are the shocker supplied identical, part number checked?
Have the shockers been physically checked that they are the same?

I have had the wrong part delivered in the correct box before!

Bottom line, if your setup is legal and stable that's all that matters. Regardless of the use of a WDH or not.
That is right if you use the genuine towbar from Nissan, but not if you change to a Hayman Reese etc

So replaced the Oztec crush tubes (too long for bushes) with std tubes and shocks now fit as they should.

Only problem is, the knock is still there. The fitter and myself have gone over everything.
Only difference is the std coils have a rubber liner around the top two winds - do they do anything?

Replaced shocks one at a time - one is making the knocking sound.
Now to try and get it replaced - didn't sound too convincing over the phone, never had one fail before apparently.
Plus I have mixed them up and not sure which is which now.

Some people found (I was one) that if you installed the shocks whilst wheel off the ground you could get a knock. Tighten them up when car was off the jacks and on the ground...this eliminated a knock that was there sometimes. I tightened mine up on a hoist...discovered a knock...so loosened off on the hoist, lowered car and when sitting on all 4 wheels re tightened...knock gone. A few others also had this issue and solved it using this method

The other reason you should only tighten the mounting bolts once on the ground is so the bushes doesn’t tear out as it gets twisted from being fully down to about a third of the way up on its travel.

Thanks -Yes, that was the procedure taken.
When compressing the shocks by hand, they have different compression and sound.
The knock was on the up stroke.
