model: pajero sport or model: pajero, series: sport?

Checked my rego papers and they read (in part)

Make: Mitsubishi Model: Pajero Badge: GLS Series: QE Sport

I would have thought it should be
Make: Mitsubishi Model: Pajero Sport Badge: GLS Series: QE

I asked Main Roads (over the phone) about this and they said it was an issue for dealer/manufacturer. The call center guy didn't have access to the system to even see if 'pajero sport' is a valid entry for model type.

Dealer communicated that 'pajero sport' is under the 'pajero'.

I'm probably overthinking it but is this same as other people have on their papers? (particularly QLD).

Considering its a replacement for the challenger I dont know why they even called it a pajero sport. I suspect the reasoning is as the Pjero has a good reputation they will use the name for future models even though the NX is the last real pajero. Same as toyota calling the prado a landcruiser.. Dont worry about what the paperwork says mate. Trying to deal with bureaucracy will do your head in.

      Mine says:

      Make: MIT
      Model: PAJERO
      Variant: QE4X4

No mention of "Sport" at all.

Would be typical of TMR more alarmingly anyone who has a pajero activ in qld has to have it registered as a glx, when queried I was told that's just the way it is and if I wanted that in writing I had to send in an official complaint.

The Challenger was only called that in Australia......overseas it was always the Paj Sport.

It's not a replacement for the Challenger....rather just an update model.

Quote from Motoring site. Their words , not mine.

"Mitsubishi Australia to adopt new name for next Challenger; due on sale in December 6th 2015

Mitsubishi’s new Challenger will go by its European name – Pajero Sport – when it goes on sale in Australia in early December.

Revealed in August in Thailand, where it will be produced, the third-generation Challenger since 1996 is based on the fifth-generation Triton one-tonne ute released locally in April.

As such, it will again be a direct rival for Toyota’s Prado, Holden’s Colorado 7 and Isuzu’s MU-X, as well as new ute-based large off-road SUVs including the Ford Everest, Toyota Fortuner and, if it’s sold here, an upcoming Nissan SUV based on the latest Navara."

Just spoke to TMR after placing an online enquiry. They fixed my pajero registration and changed to an activ. Very easy.

                    It did say:

                    Model: pajero
                    Badge: glx
                    Series: nt

They have changed the badge to say Activ. I was worried about this in case I needed to make an insurance claim and the information wasn't right. I'd be more concerned if it was something like the OP has written.
