Yes well as we know they are all diesels anyway. But interesting to see his comments in the Herald Sun Drive section today on the Challenger. I'm sure he said he didn't drive it, his wife did . So don't know how he can comment on it.
Anyway will have an XLS for five days ....we will see what it is like on and offroad

Yeah should be interesting. The Triton is not a bad ute at all.....but thats it, it's a ute. And you certainly know about it offroad with nothing in the back. On road still a bit quirky but I would put that down to tyre size. Going a bit wider to a 225 certainly would have improved on road manners.
The Challenger is a whole different ball game. Will be on 265/65 17" and a coil arse end so expecting a bit more sedate ride.
What to me will be intersting is I have a good choice of tracks for testing what it is like offroad. My main criteria will be the difference between leaving the difflock in or leaving ASC on (traction control) working on some of the harder tracks.

i read his review as well and his main complaint was noise and finish. he also commented that he had just finished with the new prado the week before and he was compairing it to that. just reading on this forum the main complaint from pajero owners (mainly gen4) is noise and finish so its probably a fair review given that he/she were only really testing it for its soccer mum ability not its off road ability. another complaint was the engine with a lack of power and a vibration. what amuses me is the triton gets rave reviews and yet its the same engine and basically the similar from the rear doors forward.

Hey Dave, that looks to be the same Challenger that was used in the 4x4 mag write up, cleaned up nice.
Also, four-time Dakar champ Hiroshi Mausuoka gave it a work out too, lets see what you can do.
