A small 10w solar panel will do the trick. Connect it to an Anderson plug somewhere convenient and it's even easier to connect and disconnect.

Never heasrd of that before.. even the crappy cheap brand awnings have tough waterproof pvc covers. I've had tigerz11, Opposite Lock, Bushranger and a Foxwing. All have been waterproof.
