Yes, the weight is certainly a consideration. They fit comfortably between the wheel arches on the NX but I didn't bother fitting the wings and use that space to stuff small things in the gap.

It's just a suggestion but I've got the 58L LRA...

It's just a suggestion but I've got the 58L LRA tank but I notice you both have the 81L version, which is another 23kg in weight when full. Perhaps that's enough extra weight to cause the failures.

It's just a thought but is it possible that the cooler is still bung and not cooling the exhaust gas enough, so the EGR shuts down to prevent the extra hot gasses going back in?

I'd rather not run the risk and have them switch off with ignition. I know I'd be a victim of a flat battery otherwise:(
