Factory 18" alloys in satin black

Seeing black alloys on Pajero's here made me think yes they look great.

However here in the UK finding black alloys was almost impossible for the 4-3 version, plenty of 20" options but no 17" nor 18" that fit, bigger discs appear to have ruled out lots that fitted previous models.

I managed to find a wheel specialist and have had them powder coated in satin black, I'm really pleased with the results, so I thought I'd post some pictures for information to others in a similar situation. I know you can DIY with a can but as the cars new(ish) I thought I'd get some specialists to do the work.

    Cheers,

    Graham

really nice looking rims but not really a good off road 4 x 4 size going by the tire profile height. i would be opting for a set of 17,s with a higher profile tire fitted, cheaper in costs as well buying 17,s as opposed to 18,s. just my thoughts guys.

I agree, these are standard factory rims with 60 series OEM tyres so not great for off road work. But these rims came standard with the car so the cost of carrying out this work was a fraction of the price of new rims and tyres.

When the current tyres get to their end of life I'll fit 265/65BF Goodrich AT as I know they fit in the wheel arch space, that'll give a bit more height and then I'll get a 2" lift before any more serious off road work in Europe in a year or so.
