Running an Aux light cable through the firewall

Want to put some LED spots on my truck but the only place I can see that's remotely possible to run the cable for the cab switch is in with the bonnet release.

Not sure if Ill be able to get the grommet back in with the cable through it but worried if I leave it out with the cable through the hole dust will pour in.

    Any thoughts?

Can you punch, cut or drill a hole through a grommet in situ rather than remove and try to refit ?

Sure I could pop a screw driver through it but doubt a soft cable would go through the same hole, there's just about room though I think, might be time to break out the lube,,,,,

Coat hanger and insulation tape has never failed me when getting a wire through an existing grommet...

Shove coat hanger through then tape wire (end to end) firmly and pull back through..

& a handful of talc on the wires being pulled is like gold.

I just got a 4B&S cable A 6mm with a 4mm square, insulation taped with a grommet from clark rubber through where the bung is left hand side near main harness on a Gen 4.
            Neat, tight perfect actually.

Don't ask me what size grommet , just happened it worked had it from another day left over

Not sure if you've done this or not yet, but punch a new hole in an existing grommet and spray some silicon around, far easier to pull once it's lubed up
