    ASC and Battery light on

    Hi all,

Thank you for your previous assistance. Have a head scatcher on behalf of my son who just bought a MY14 VRX (good boy - whoof).

The ACS and Battery light are on. Everything works ok and is charging. The rig has a rear mounted anderson plug that is wired up through a redarc from the main battery. Clearly for charging van battery(ies). The anderson plug includes a fusable link and very tidy wiring, so assuming auto sparky install.

Anyone had this experience and able to provide a solution so simple I feel like as dill?

Silly question but have you checked all light fuses?

Drive it a bit longer and see if they go out. They come on after the battery has been disconnected.

Has the battery been disconnected prior to this happening ? If so it should reset itself after is self calibrates when wheels aligned straight ahead and driven for a short period of time.

I've also had this occur once when my starter battery was on the way out. So maybe also apart from the hazzard fuse etc as above check that the battery terminals aren't loose or that the charge on battery is low.

Not sure if this is the case, but after a battery disconnect ASC light came on. After reaching 60 km/h the light would go off (at least in my case).

Alas not as simple as changed fuse or long drive. Bit limited for time today as we went up the bush and cut a load of fire wood with it. Everything works great and charges OK. We tested all the levers, switches and modes. BTW those heated seat are the business when your back is sore.

                      The plan tomorrow is:

                      1. Change out a bunch of possible fuses and clean receptacles. As we all know a completed fuse doesn't necessarily mean its OK. Tricky buggers them fuses.

                      2. Change out the battery with a known good one. The current battery is 500 CCA. To small to my mind.

                      3. Disconnect the redacr and ancillaries to see if they have influence.

                      4. Use lots of stern looks and possibly words.

Did all that and still no joy. No codes are visible on my OBD reader and the voltage is 14.8, so charging ok.

                        Any thoughts?

I assume you took it for a few kms drive with the new battery? 500CCA is too small - should be more like 700+

If it has a brake controller, try disconnecting it.

14.8 Voltage is coming off the alternator, it is not that state of charge of the battery.
