Dont know if yours is the same as my 2014 NW.....but yesterday I put a new brake light switch on mine and it seems to be all good now. Cruise control lights were showing as normal but wouldnt switch on. Tested 3 times this morning and it now cruises at the selected speed.
I also had no warning lights as well. I also changed the brake light fuse as it was a little corroded.

Check the brake light and clutch limit switches to see that they are not still engaged. I used to have problems with my NL brake pedal- the adjustment was too close to the top of pedal travel. Because I was so awkward, I couldn't get in there to adjust it, so I just hooked my foot under the pedal when I wanted cruise and lifted the pedal. This is a good way to check the pedals if they are causing the problem.

Some models have a OBD II Port (A port to plug in a computer to communicate with your cars computers) You can buy a Bluetooth dongle and use a app on your phone to do that or you go to a nearby mechanic shop to do that with more professional software

Trouble is if intermittent the obd11 wont pick up a code because everything is working fine...brake switch is either on or off. If warning lights came on or brake lights didnt work then yes, the fault should show up.
