    Immobiliser Intermittent Fault Paj NL

    Hi all,

Looking for some advice from the more electrically minded folk on this forum.
I'm trying to get to the bottom of an intermittent no start issue which I believe is due to the immobiliser and or Key.

Never happens when the car is cold but occasionally (once every week or so) after driving and stopping, the car will throw a CEL for error code 54 and not start. If I remove the key and turn to accessory a few times eventually the CEL goes away and I can start the car.

On longer trips in hot weather the frequency of this occurring increases but once I get it running it doesn't give me any further dramas.

Has anyone heard of anything similar or had any experience with something like this?

Either the rf chip in the key is failing or the receiver ring is failing. The immobiliser can not be hot wired or bypassed without reflashing the ecu. you can get a secondhand lockset and immobiliser module if you want. I may know a guy in australind who may have one. But you can only swap nl with nl ones

      Thanks for the info mate,

Australind is a bit far for me, will try to source a spare module though for when mine gives up completely.

you need both the key set and the module.... if anyone tries to say a NL needs the ECU to get some extra cash out of you ignore them it does not.... onw of the only mitsi's that dont pair the module to the ecu....

Worst case scenario I may have a spare ECU I can flash the immobiliser out of -
